I’ve found embroidering before bed helps calm my mind, so it has become a ritual of sorts after the sun sets. A recurring thought during these stretches of silence centers on the soul of the things we surround ourselves with. By soul, I mean the emotional weight and the level of connection we have with something. Each of us has objects that carry a weight beyond their physical value. For me, the time spent embroidering each piece creates a real relationship with the work. I think people can often sense that depth. They recognize the effort and dedication, even if they are unfamiliar with the process.
