Safari

Acting as both a sculpture and a floor lamp, creating Safari was a labor of love. 4mm bamboo bands were glued and tied at every intersection to form the giraffe's frame. Then, over 100 pieces of mulberry and rice paper were hand-cut and glued using wheat paste. Custom conduit is attached to the base of 16 glued-and-routed wood slats. Two LED bulbs wired to a dimmer switch allow the lamp to be adjusted to whatever the room calls for.
